Itinerary
Spitsbergen Kayaking
Day 1
Arrive Longyearbyen. Overnight at Spitsbergen Guesthouse.
Day 2
Optional morning walk to Plateau Mountain, which has fantastic views across Longyearbyen and Isfjorden. After lunch enjoy a guided walk through town en route to MS Nordstjernen. Sail into the Icefjord and on to the Russian settlement of Barentsburg; there will be opportunities to visit the Pomor Museum (optional) and a folklore show, before continuing along the coast of Prins Karl’s Forland and the Kongsfjord.
Day 3 - 4
Passing the ‘Seven Icebergs’ we journey into the Magdalenefjord, without doubt one of Spitsbergen’s most beautiful fjords, where we aim to make full use of our tender boats to explore further, continue towards Moffen Island.
Day 5
Taking in the tiny settlement of Ny-Ålesund you then cross the Kongsfjord and disembark for our camp at Blomstrand, taking to the waters in kayaks before your first night under the Arctic sky.
Days 6 - 7
Over the next two days you kayak amongst the spectacular scenery of the Blomstrand and
Krossfjord glaciers, visiting old trappers huts and the abandoned marble mine of Ny London.
Day 8
After a morning continuing to explore Krossfjord, you return to Blomstrand to rejoin MS Nordstjernen for the journey back to Icefjord.
Day 9
Arrive in Longyearbyen this morning where the tour ends.

Itinerary
Spitsbergen Treking:
Day 1
Arrive Longyearbyen. Overnight at Spitsbergen Guesthouse.
Day 2
Optional walk to ‘Plateau Mountain’, and a sightseeing tour of Longyearbyen. Embark ship later this afternoon and sail to Barentsburg, then continue along the coast.
Day 3
Arrive in Magdalenefjord in Spitsbergen’s remote north-western corner and land by tender boats. Continue along Spitsbergen’s northernmost fjord you sail to Raudfjorden, disembarking to begin our trekking adventure amongst the towering ragged peaks of the Raudfjorden.
Days 4 – 7
Camping and hiking in the Raudfjord region.This spectacular and diverse landscape gives some stunning trekking opportunities, including coastal walks, mountain treks and the majesty of one of the most fabulous wilderness locations on Earth. Rejoining MS Nordstjernen on the evening of Day 7 we sail south, passing Smeerenburgfjord and the ‘Seven Icebergs’.
Day 8 - 11
Visiting Ny-Ålesund you then disembark for our second camp, lying in the shadow of the magnificent Blomstrand Glacier. Over the following days we will take day hikes amongst the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
Day 12
Rejoining the ship around lunchtime you begin the journey back to Icefjord.
Day 13
Arrive in Longyearbyen, where the tour ends.

Flight Package

Your flight package includes: Return economy class flights from London Heathrow to Longyearbyen (via Oslo), including applicable taxes and current fuel surcharges. Weekend departures include dinner at an Oslo airport hotel, midweek departures include a night at an Oslo airport hotel with breakfast, transfers in Longyearbyen (only for flights connecting directly to the tours). Not included: Optional carbon balancing fee (£5.00).
