Welcome to the sixth continent
Antarctica is a land of truly awesome grandeur. The highest, driest, coldest and cleanest continent on Earth, its oceans are unimaginably rich in bird and marine life and its surreal and haunting landscapes are like nothing else on earth. Travelling aboard the custom built MS Fram, these spectacular adventures to the bottom of the world follow in the footsteps of pioneering explorers like Scott, Amundsen and Shackleton, through the dramatic swells of the southern oceans to lands that lie at the very edge of our imagination.
From the southern tip of the South American continent we journey past Cape Horn and across the infamous Drake Passage, towards the vast expanse of Antarctica and through ice-chocked waters that are home to whales and leopard seals. We will follow Shackleton’s route through the Falklands and South Georgia and visit abandoned whaling stations and penguin colonies as we ply the krill rich seas beyond the Antarctic Circle. We will explore the spectacular landscapes around Marguerite Bay and its surrounding islands, journey through the breathtaking Neumayer Channel and take in the majestic solitary grace of the wandering albatross.
Enjoying the delights of vibrant Buenos Aires and lonely Ushuaia, the world’s most southerly city, as we embark on these unique journeys, we will cross the vast southern oceans to lands that few have ever seen.
Visiting the white continent, even in the relative luxury of a modern ship, still feels like an expedition - and a rare privilege.
